About Taylor Hunter, LCSW (she/her)
I’m here to help you reshape your relationship with your body and your sport.
I’m an Illinois-based therapist for athletes with eating disorders, disordered eating and body image challenges.
How I work:
At the core of my approach is the conviction that you matter beyond a number on a scale or points on a scoreboard.
Working with me is collaborative, structured, and focused on meaningful change. I specialize in supporting athletes with eating disorders, helping you rebuild a healthy relationship with food, body, and performance while staying aligned with your personal values.
My approach is skills-based and action-oriented. Together, we identify patterns that are keeping you stuck. We’ll develop practical tools you can use both in and out of sessions, whether that’s managing urges, improving emotional control, or strengthening your sense of identity beyond sport. Progress isn’t just about reducing harmful behaviors, but also building a life that feels purposeful and sustainable.
Clients often describe me as direct but approachable. I will challenge you when needed, while also creating a space where you feel understood, supported, and respected. Therapy with me isn’t about perfection, but rather consistency, growth, and learning how to show up for yourself in new ways.
If you’re an athlete in Pennsylvania, New Jersey or Illinois looking for specialized eating disorder support, we’ll work together to create a clear, realistic path forward that supports both your recovery and your performance.

-
Working with me is collaborative and genuinely personable. From the start, I focus on building a strong, authentic connection with my clients. Therapy with me doesn’t feel cold or overly clinical. We’ll have real conversations tailored to your unique goals. and needs. I value you as a whole person, not just for your symptoms or your sport. You can expect a space where you feel comfortable being honest and where your experiences are taken seriously.
-
I strive to make you feel supported, heard and respected. Clients often tell me they appreciate that I can balance being approachable and down-to-earth with being focused and effective. We can laugh, be real, and still do deep, impactful work. I aspire to create a supportive environment that encourages authenticity and honesty.
-
I understand how much athletes value their time. My therapeutic style is skills-based, direct and engaged. I’ll offer clear feedback, ask meaningful questions, and help you stay accountable to your goals.
